Default please help me gang

hey gang.

Who has front end noise on their S197?

My '06 GT "clunks" on the front right side over small bumps, especially when turning left.

I can't decide if it's a stut, a strut tower or even the exhaust hitting somewhere.

They have me between a rock and a hard place here because apparently, the guys at the local dealership "can't hear it" but I have already complained about it twice. So, if I start taking it apart myself, they will void the warranty on the front suspension.

I know there are a couple of TSBs for the front end of these things but they keep telling me that none of them apply to my car because all the problems were fixed before mine was built in Nov of '05.

Anyway, if any of you have had a similar problem or know what this is, I would sure appreciate your help because I'm about to go drive the dang thing throught the dealer's front window LOL

thanks in advance.

I know that I, and many others, have experiences a squeak that sounds like it is coming from the passenger side of the dash. Is that the noise you are talking about? I think the cause of that is a airbag bracket or something. I just turn my radio up and ignore it.

no, I had that one fixed already LOL. Thanks very much for your input though, I really do appreciate any help I can get but this is different. It's definitely a "clunk".

noticed any clunk yet and mine was built in Dec '05. good luck and i hope
you find and resolve this issue...

The TSB is only for 2005's built before 4/08/2005, but you could be experiencing a similar issue with your car. I don't know what Ford did to correct the problem, but somebody else might. You might have to buy some lowering springs, with leads to performance struts, better brakes, new wheels & tires, bigger sway bars, roll bar, etc. It's a very slippery slope!

P.S. - After making all of the above changes, don't come a knockin' if your front-end still pops.

thanks hammeron. I was also considering the power steering and it's a possible suspect.

Unfortuantely, I am just at a loss here.

i also had a clunk because my exhaust was too high up and over bumps it would hit the fascia.

I had the same noise on my front end that you are describing. My car was built after Nov 05 and my dealer fixed it under the TSB no problem. Can you take it to another dealer in the area? Maybe they can 'hear' it.

Mikehawk...

NEXT time... take the Ford guy for a ride and when you hear it, he should be able to.. or you will discover all the techs at your dealership are deaf!
