Need your help
Wanting to purchase 06 or 07 GT. Have been all over the forums and internet looking for the mpg on the GT. From what I have read the mpg gets better after it is broken in. Just curious as to what kind of mileage you are getting. Not extremely important but I drive about 100 miles a day.
Also what octane are you using? Saw one site where they were saying only to use premium gas? Anyone using regular?
Thanks

My mpg actually got a bit worse as it broke in.
Lotsa time on the highway (my roundtrip commute is 110 miles), where I average around 26mpg.
And these are designed to use 87; mine's been running fine on it so far.

Well i have an 05 GT with a jlt intake, sct tune, u/d pullies, l/t headers, catted h and frpp mufflers with heavy *** 20's and i'm getting about 18-19 mpg and thats residental driving. It would probably be alot better if it wasn't for the 20's but i just has to have them.

Adherrera722 & Stangie,
Thanks for the mpg figures. You guys are helping feel better about getting the GT.
My first car back in 1972 was a 66 Mustang. Would love to get a 06 GT and drive it everyday and just keep this one. I sold the 66 in 74 for a Camaro, and I wish I would have just hung on to the Mustang
Thanks again,
Rusty

RE: Need your help
I am averaging 19.6 mpg using regular (87 octane) unleaded. This is a mix of both city driving and highway driving. Haven't done a lot of interstate driving, and my daily commute is about 22 miles one way through country roads without much stopping. Have a little over 10000 miles on the car now. I would actually expect this number to go up by a little bit if I were doing more highway driving as sometimes my wife drives the car as well since her commute is much shorter, but is in town where there is a lot more stop and go. We try to keep the miles down by having her drive it a few days a week since hers is a much shorter commute than mine.

Usually around 22 mpg. 50% highway, 30% rural back roads (usually 45 - 65 mph, traffic light every 5 miles or so), 20% stop and go. I use cruise as much as possible, but also like to get on it when the light turns green. [sm=gears.gif]
