Thread size on a 06 shifter-stock
It is M12 x 1.25.
It is an odd ball size. I had to retap another shifter **** with tap that I bought from Amazon.com
1 of High Carbon Steel Machine Screw Thread Metric Plug Tap 12mm - 1.25,
$4.75
Shipping & Handling: $7.95
Tax: $0.00
Total: $12.70

He wants an '06 size. My PRO5.0 is the same as the factory shift **** in my '06. My '05 is an automatic so I can't check it....
When you put yours in ...did the factory **** fit it?
I suggest you follow his advice! I got my information from searching another forum! MINE did fit the factory ****.

Thanks fellas. I can say that I bought a shift **** that was for a Mustang. It said the threads were 12X1.75 on the **** and they were, I checked it using a bolt at the hardware store. It will not fit my 06 though. I can tell the shifter has a finer thread count than the **** so I bet it is 12X1.25. Thanks again. One more reason to curse metric fastners!
Don't know if this is related to what you are asking, but a manual shift **** for a Tri-Ax is the same size as the earlier, pre-2005 Mustangs. This means a replacement **** for a 2005 or newer is NOT going to fit on a Tri-ax.
