Front brake rotors gone bad!
I noticed recently steering wheel vibrating while under heavy o rmedium breaking from speeds exceeding 50 mph.
Very likely front brake rotors are deformed because pads are ok. Must have happened by heavy breaking on water or something, I dont know. (I have 7000 miles on odo)
Question that Id like to ask is if I should simply replace them with new stocks (and wait til this happenes again) or take the chance & look after some after market rotors that could sustain heavier duty to my driving style. What do you think and do you have any recommendations for front brakes rotors???
Thanks

I know mine have gotten rough, but they are starting to squeel when braking a little, but only for a second. Its my front right one doing it. I know mine are wearing done, I gotta stop driving so fast so I can slow down before I pass the cop lol. That and drag racing doesnt help any lol.
In my opinion, the "Stock size" aftermarket rotors aren't worth it. They are just a bunch of marketing hype applied to a product that is functionally no better than OEM rotors.
I would take yours off and have them turned. It will cost you $10 per rotor at nearly any auto parts store. If they are too badly warped or worn to be turned, then just get a new set of stock type rotors.

Ford has had issues with rotors warping; every Taurus/Sable owner will attest to that. The quality on these in particular is poor (don't know about the stang yet); once warped no point in turning, you are just making thinner, the poor quality rotors that will then warp with less use that OE. My suggestion is a new set of Wagners; CAP has them; I've replaced Taurus, Mits with these and they have out performed OE (still running them with more mileage than OE and no warping) They are not expensive; I do not recommend turning rotors that have already failed in relatively low mileage. There are police package level pads, you should ask about rotors when you shop.

Most all our our Sponsor Vendors on this site have upgraded cross drilled/slotted rotors too......Check them out by scrolling down to the vendor section on the main page, usually they be able to hook you up with a good price too...
It is not uncommon for any rotor to warp, even expensive brands. One of the leading causes for rotors warping is not correctly putting the wheels on and applying the correct torque to each lug. Many people do NOT use a torque wrench and that can lead to problems especially if they are over torqued.
It is also not uncommon for the factory to not have torqued the wheels correctly. If you ever change your wheels or rotate them pay extra attention to NOT over torque them and torque them in the correct sequence.
