Mustangs
Hmmm...if V6s are so great why are some owners putting GT Body Kits on them. If you're going to own a V6, which is fine if that is what you want, then proudly drive it and don't try to look like the big boys.
I live in Wilkes-Barre,PA. I bought my 2005 Mustang back in June 2005. I was like famous around here. I would pull in a store parking lot and they would yell, "Nice car" or something. My wife got a kick out of it. I would be at a red light and they would be waving and yelling at me. Just the other day, we had to take my wife's 2002 Saturn SC over our family's friends garage for mirror replacement. The car was hit ,parked in front of our house. He wanted us to bring the car over and he could throw a mirror on until he can get us in the garage for fender, bumper and mirror work done. My wife pulls in with the Saturn and I with Mustang. I get out and he yells," Very nice car!" I yell back at him," Yeah, I traded the other car you painted for me for this one." He laughed. I seem newer Mustangs around here but not too many. I really couldnt tell you if they were 2005,2006, or 2007 (if available). V6 and GT were both seen. We took a road trip for vacation back in July to Nashville, TN. I would have to say it was about 840 miles in both directions ( 1680 miles approx.) and I saw one or two. When I got down there, They were all over. We were sitting at the bus stop and I looked over at a car dealership and saw a 2005/2006 Torch Red GT spinning on display stand. I saw many Mustangs drive by us while sitting on the bench. Anywhere from 2000 and up and many colors. Whether you own a V6 or V8 (no these days people like to use GT only), you still have a Mustang. I am proud to drive a V6, I always loved them. It's not the power but the beauty of a beautiful car that dates back many years.
About modding: Yes, people do mod whether its a V6 or GT. Being unique is great because it shows what you put into your Stang. Any changes to your Stang whether its changing the rims, spoiler, body kits, horse power, interiors mods makes it endless for peoples imagination. At this time, I just have stock, no mods. I had a 6 year loan with Ford Credit and I have about less than 5 years left. Actually I've been putting a few extra bucks on it a month to get it paid off quickly.

Body Kits are body kits. What's wrong with V6 with a body kit. You guys mod GT. Why? Too look and run like a Saleen,SVT, SVO, SSP,Cobras. I guess a Stock GT is one of these big boys. I think not. Before you make a statement like that you should think about what you own. A GT is nothing but a 90hp faster than a V6. Being different is what body kits is about, different styles, different look. Maybe all Stangs should be one color also.

Here I see atleast 50-75 Mustangs per day... No, I'm not exaggerating. Most of which are not the new body style, but atleast 5-15 of them are. It's about 1:3 v6 to GT ratio around here for the new model... and a 20:1 v6 to GT ratio for the older model. I also see the same blue/white roush every morning, one day I'm going to be going the same way as him and make him stop and talk to me.
Yeah, I live in a middle/upper middle class suburb outside of Houston, so it's pretty much every car I see...
Dude, don't be a *****... 4.0's are a hell of a lot of car for anyone... Just because they're adding GT parts onto their v6, doesn't mean they're trying to be a GT... You don't see them putting GT badges on, they just want some of the upgraded parts, just like you do when you buy a GT. Leave them alone, they're as much a Mustang as you are.

In the DC area here i see my share of mustangs, but not that many compared to how many cars are actually on the street. I also see alot of the V6's compared to the GT's in both old and new style. But mostly in this area we see alot of civics and other ricers, scions are becoming huge around here.
I made the mistake once of getting the mustang V6, but i was just looking for a used car for when i wasnt driving the jeep so i ended up with a 2000 V6 vert, it has about 30,000 miles on it and i paid $11000 for it in 2003, so back then it was a good deal, not great but good considering it was in great condition.
But driving such a nice car with the mustang name you just knew everyone would think, well he only has a V6, i always said next time i got a mustang it would be the GT and well that is what i did.
Soon as i saw the new body style i feel in love and told myself, after the first 2 years i will own one, and now i own a 2007. I figured I would give them the first two years to work out the kinks, there were a few as i can see by the TSB's and probaly will still be a few, but a majority of them will be worked out.
In the long run i dont see anything wrong with the V6's, however they are just not for me, i always was left longing for the GT which made me disappointed in the V6. I had two choices, wait for the used to go down in prices and keep paying the jeep and then buy a used, or sell the jeep and get a new one, so i sold the jeep and got my 2007. By the way the used around here are only about $2000 cheaper then a new one, so the GT's are holding there value in this area.

THeres nothing wrong with a gt body kit. Its just a look. At the time, my wallet wasnt in the cards for a Gt. I'll never put gt badges on my 6.
