Limited Slip on Automatic GTs

Limited Slip on Automatic GTs
The '06 Mustang brochure lists a limited slip rear axle as an option on GTs equipped with an automatic transmission and as standard on those with a manual. I've never seen any ordering information from any source that showed it's availability as an option and don't recall it being listed on any window sticker I've seen.
So what's the story - do automatic GTs have limited slip as standard or as an option or not at all?

I think Ford has been messing around with the options. I know that on the 05's limited slip was standard on all GT's regardless of manual or automatic. It would be stupid to have a car with 300 hp and no limited slip but I guess they are cutting costs by having as an option on the auto equipped cars now. It's a bad idea. With 300 hp you are going to have a pretty bad traction problem without an LSD.

Well was a puzzling question indeed, when i ordered my car. I took notice of the fact that it listed it as an option in the brochure yet when we placed the order there was no where to order the Limited Slip. My Fleet manager even called Ford Direct and they did not know why it was listed as an option since it is standard equipment in the GT. So we placed the order and the car does in fact have the LS.

I think all of the GTs have LSD standard.

The limited slip is standard on all GTs. It's just the 3.55 rear gear ratio that's optional. 3.55 was standard on the 05-06s now it's optional and I believe 3.30 gears are standard.
