Default first time at track! here is the result!!

i went to byron dragway with chicagoland mustang club against chicagoland srt-4 club.

well this was my first time in my life at a track and at my first run, i bogged the car and did a bad 60' time which is 2.13 and ran 14.1 at 99.8 mph. i saw those other stang GTs were running 14.2-3-4 and i was very happy with my first run i beat their times..

then i lowered my tire pressure a little and lined up against a modified stage 2 srt-4 and light turns green and i jumped on him pretty good and DAMN!! i missed 4th gear but still ran 13.6 BONE STOCK and DID 1.91 60' time.. if i wouldnt have missed a gear, i would be definetely 13.4s stone stock..

06 GTO couldnt dig into 13s for about 3 runs and finally we lined up and i sucked at launch and i did 2.54 crappy 60' time and he ran 13.8 and i ran 14.5 which was my fault.. and that was it.. people couldnt believe me when i said i ran mid 13s stone stock on stock tires.. nobodyelse dig in mid 13s but me at ttrack with stock new stang GT! i was proud of myself

i will scan slips and post here.. now i am pretty busy..

i think with a stone stock new stang GT and it was my fiirst time evert at track and i ran 13.6 was impressive!

Impressive run. Most people red light and don't even get a good time. I thought about taking mine down the track but I don't want to be too hard on it. Most of the Mustangs that I see that run them hard start to blow blue smoke from the tail pipes. I only have 3k miles on mine. May change my mind after 75K.

1st time I went to track I ran a 14.6 with my 5.0, it was so much fun, I couldn't believe how exciting it was. That was at Raceway Park in NJ, now I live in Lauderdale and I need to find the time to hit morosso park up, however I always run my car with stock psi in the tires, it gives me a better idea of what it will do on the street. All the mags (motor trend etc) run their cars with stock psi and a full tank of gas, I do the same.

Wow you ran a 13.6 at 94?? I ran a 13.6 at 102.5.. why is your mph so low? And what psi did you lower your tires to? I been wanting to try that but dunno what psi I should drop it to.

i did a very good jump, almost no spin.. i felt like i had wheel stand! thats why i believe my mph was slow.. one of my buddy trapped 101 but couldnt dig into 13s.. my tires are bald anymore... i did a lot of burnouts with them on the street and plus at the track.. i need some good slicks and i will be at low 13s. also did u run 13.6 stock also? how was the weather? yesterday it was VERY HOT over 80s and 87% humiditiy!

Nah, my 13.6 was on stock tires with an intake, it was probably about the same weather as yours if not hotter. What was your 60'? Im tryin to figure out whether my bad times are because the car doesnt have as much hp as it should or because I cant get it to hook and get a decent 60'.

Why are you going into 4th? You should be able to cross the 1/4 mile line at about 6100 rpms and o/a 102 mph stock. That last shift is costing you time and increasing the chances for a missed shift. Just my opinion...

as i said, after my first run 14.1, guys told me tryn 4th gear, these cars do not make power after 5800 rpm and i said ok and i wanted to try.. regret it.. but now i know how to make this car run a like a bitch!

also BLINKAGE: my 60' time was 1.9 on stock tires!
