Anyone else expecially with a white mustang notice alot of black dust on the rear bumper and rear trunck lid? Not sure if it is exhaust dust or what?? Its not regular dirt dust but a fine black dust. Anyone...

How about some pics. If it's exhaust it should be more like soot. If it's dust possibly brake dust. Could just be pollution from the air as well.

Have to get back to you on the pics, just washed my car yesterday. It basically looks like a fine black powder all over rear.

I get that too, it rinses right off, it appears to be a mixture of soot and regular road funk.

That would be the remains of little Honda Civics that challenged you, and paid the price.

Exactly arhcion, yes it does rinse right off but then you have water spots then you have to wash the car. lol But what causes that??? Never seen this build up so fast on previous cars. Of course this is my first Mustang.

i think its mostly road funk. right after i clean my car, dry it all off, and get her looking all fine...the next time i drive it in the morning (my baby has to sit outside at night) and when i get to work, and it dry's off, its there...no way around it other then wash it as much as you can! they look good in white

Does your car have the rear spoiler on it? I had a black GT and now a tungsten grey GT and that seems to be the way the soot(especially if you live in a large city with smog-I live in L.A.) builds up behind the car, I think the rear spoiler exacerbates this more.
Keeping the car waxed also promotes dust/soot build-up. Just nature of the beast, keep a California Duster on hand, it'll pay for itself very quickly.
