How does the Automatic trasmission hold up when you install a Supercharger?

Heat is what kills tranny oil. To be safe run synthetic.

Less than a non-supercharged car. [8D]

Just fine from what I hear. I think there was a guy on TMS running a pretty big SC setup on an auto Mustang with good results thus far.

Mine is fine so far (only 6K miles), but from what I have read the auto is beefier than the manual.

The only problem you will have with the automatic is that you will want to spend the extra $$$ for the 3.73 rear end once you install the s/c.

I order the HO Procharger kit. I have had some people say that the trans would not hold up. What gears would be better in the ar 3:73 or 4:10 gears. It is a show car so I am not worried about the fuel mileage on it. It is never driven on the highway.

It seems that the rule of thumb on here is that auto trannies get the 3.73 gears. I had a 3.73's installed in mine and it woke the car up nicely.

The Procharger HO is a pretty serious piece. Going to the 4.10's may cause you some serious traction problems. [sm=gears.gif]

Im sure there is someone on here that can give you a better insight about this.

Good luck and let us know how things work out for you.
