Default Problems with engine in 06GT

Hi all,

My father has a problem with the engine in his 06 Mustang GT. I don't really know the specifics. All I know is that he brought to the dealer because he was down on power and the engine was making lots of noise, they replaced the "lash adjuster", and the problem reemerged within a week. He brought the car back to the dealer, they acknowledged there's a problem with his engine (and 8 others across the country have the same problem) but they will not fix it. I think in order to fix it they'd have to replace the entire engine and possibly issue a recall and they're unwilling to do that.

Is there a process he can go through to get his car fixed or replaced under the lemon law?

Like..

1) Call Ford North America
2) If they don't want to hear it, call the next person up on the list
3) If they dont help, call the next person on the list and keep calling until the engine is replaced or fixed

The guy's a diehard ford man. He's owned over 50 fords/mustangs... he worked on the assembly line for ford, he has a gt350 in the garage.. and now he's getting screwed by the same company he loves. He was going to write a letter but I don't think that will do any good. Please help!

If you'd like a better description of his engine problems I can have him write me an e-mail and post it here. He's not really computer savvy.

Thank you

Give me your VIN and I'll pull the OASIS on the vehicle. I'll also check to see the validity of 8 other complaints with no action from Ford. Have there been modifications to the engine which would cause the dealer to deny engine repair?

I dont understand how they could just say they aren't going to fix it? That makes no sense if there's no engine mods and the car is under warranty. The warranty is a contract and legally they have to fix it period.

It's the system Ford Service uses to track repairs on vehicles. It tells what has been done to the vehicle, what recalls pertain to that vehicle and whether they've been performed. It lists all the TSB's applicable to the vehicle and reported conditions to match customer complaints against based on the repair history of similar vehicles. It does more than that....but that is what I will be looking at for this person.

I work for FCSD so I am willing to assist any of the forum members with legitmate issues with their Mustang. Don't flood me with PM's about your modded engine and Ford denying your claim. If you have a stock vehicle with a legitmate problem that Ford is ignoring you on, let me know and I'll see what I can do for you.

How did no one notice this at delivery? It almost sounds like the car was damaged and the dealer repaired it themself prior to selling it to your friend. If that was the case then it's the dealers responsibility to cover the repair costs. Did your friend ever talk to a Ford Rep about the dealer refusing the repair?

+1 on that... yes get the Ford Rep. in that area involved.. don't take no as a answer period..!!!

if everything else doesn't get him a new engine or a permanent fix.. send me a PM and I will tell you how to get one from Ford , installed under warranty... not the nice way to go about it.. but it can and I have seen it done.. and it works.. but don't be stupid about it.. it MUST BE DONE RIGHT....!!!!!! so send the PM
