Default My dillema

I have a 2006 Vista Blue Stang with white Vynl(spelling?) racing stripes.

I would like to install the MRT-Interceptor hood scoop

www.MRT-Direct.com (Great site!)

Now my dillema is, while I would like to install it I have four options
1. Paint it Vista Blue
2. Paint it White
3. Paint it Vista Blue with White Stripes
4. Paint it Vista Blue and get Vynl Stripes on it

Question on #3 - Would the painted stripes on the hood scoop clash with the vynl white stripes?

Question on #4 - Does anyone know a place that would but the vynl stripes on? - I know the Ford dealership told me when they installed my stripes that they just don't cut them, it's like a package made specificly for that install.

Thanks guys!

Cool car! Nice hoodscoop choice(that's the 1969-70 Boss 429 style scoop). I'd personally get the scoop painted Vista blue(I really like that color) and buy a section of vinyl stripes(maybe the place where the dealership gets their stripes has left over pieces they could sell you) and have a bodyshop install them(unless you're brave and have a good eye you can DIY), but shouldn't you remove the section of stripes that would show under the scoop? Thanks.

Honestly don't know about removing the stripes underneath, though it definetly wouldn't be enough to do anything.

I would definetly have a bodyshop install them, and the hood scoop for that matter.

But I don't which way to go.

Does anyone have enough paintshop skills to show me what my car looks like with a vista blue hoodscop on top of the white stripes. It'd be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks!

IMO I would leave the vinyl stripes on the hood, paint the scoop same color, get vinyl stripes to match. Painting the stripes on the scoop with vinyl on the car will look bad. I saw one at a car show this summer and it was very noticable. Every dealership I know has a contractor come in and install stripes, so I'm sure they can put you in contact with the contractor. Unless your dealership has their own guy that does it, but I would be surprised. The only thing custom about vinyl stripes like that is the color and width. The guys that install these have this computer that they enter the dimensions, then the machine spits out the size and style they want, all from the back of a van. It shouldn't be too difficult to match it and install them on the scoop. Good luck.

I wold paint and install the scoop first. See how it looks without the stripes first. I think it would look good without the stripes IMO. If you don't like it, then get it striped. You can probably go to any sign shop and see if they have any scraps you can use. They are easy to cut and trim.
