Default hood pins

OK guys I'm debating if I am going to install hood pins or not. The girlfriend thinks the car looks good now and hates the look of the pins. I think the pins go with the retro look. Pictures attached are a mock-up of the hood pins installed. Would like to think what you guys think since I will be installing them today if I do it. And I dont want the stick on ones. Im doing it for the functionality since I have an aftermarket hood, or Im not going to install and keep my fingers crossed when Im racing that ricer next to me.

Like that hood!

What brand, where did you buy, and how much???

I'm sick and tired of my stock hood shaking at 80mph. I've tried to adjust the stops myself and had the dealership look at it, too. Still shakes and makes me nervous!

Does your aftermarket hood shake much? Are those air vents functional? I wonder if they keep the air from building up underneath the hood...

I dont know if anyone else had my problem too but, when i put my pins on like you have them set up there. They wore away at the paint when they slapped against the hood, so I changed my setup. But hood pins are the way to go

jerseyblood, what size are your Halibrand type wheels? If they are only 18's then the lowered suspension definitely gives the appearance of larger wheels. Love that Saleen hood.

Hell I think Ford should install the hood pins from the factory, the way the hood flaps from all the positive pressure under the hood at speed, im waitng for mine to fly up.

I like the hood pins more in the corner of the hoods better. Most all 60's and 70's era muscle cars had then in the corners. That is the way I installed mine.

The picture is just a mock-up, I have enough room on the sides for the laynards if rubbing is an issue. The hood is a Saleen hood and the vents are functional. Pretty neat setup for when it rains. The water goes inside the hood then drains to the front and is released in front of the engine. But only if alot of water builds up inside. It never rains in AZ though. I got the hood from Haney motorsports. They are based in AZ and I picked it up. Cheapest around. The wheels are 20" and yes lowered with Eibach. Going to go to depot now I think and pick up the tools.

Because of the angle of the hood you might need to make the holes alittle bit bigger so the pins slide through without rubbing

Yep, had to do that. Just used a drill to angle the holes.
