Default Gas cap question?

So i start my car this morning and the check gas cap message comes up on my display. So i get out and obviously check it. Looks fine but i took it off and tightened it with the clicks and all. The message still comes up on the display. Has anyone else experienced this or do you guys no what might be causing it. Any info at all would help out. Thanks

You have to make sure you click it enough times. It may take more than one restart to reset the message. You can always disconnect the negative side of the battery for a few minutes and then see if it's gone.

Did you try disconnecting the battery to reset the computer. If you do it and it doesn't reset and stay reset I would take it to the dealer.

this is a common problem. Just hope it doesn't lead to bigger things!
You can have the dealer check it out or just unplug the battery. Don't worry about losing your pre-programmed stations in the radio, as they have battery backup.
But you did just do it the required 3 clicks? Really important to do exactly 3!!!!! Ha Ha!

"...And Saint Attila raised the hand grenade up on high, saying, "O Lord, bless this, Thy hand grenade, that with it, Thou mayest blow Thine enemies to tiny bits... in Thy mercy." And the Lord did grin, and the people did feast upon the lambs and sloths and carp and anchovies and orangutans and breakfast cereals, and fruit bats and large chu... [Whereupon the friar is urged, "skip ahead a bit, brother"]... And the Lord spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then, shalt thou count to three. No more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it." Amen.

I still dont understand how the gas cap can have any bearing on any thing but keeping the tank closed. I close mine to the first click and have NO IDEA of what pegasusphototx was talking about at all unless in some way known to him only, all that he wrote was supposed to mean 3. Kinda going the long way around the religious barn to say nothing.

Im an old man, what do I know.
