Default SQUEAKY QUESTION...

I have a slight squeak/rattle in my dash somewhere and when I hit a rougher place in the road you can hear it. If I put my hand on the dash, it stops. Any idea how to correct this problem?

Me too. I think it is in the passenger air bag compartment. I took it to Ford and they "fixed" it, which lasted almost 2 weeks. It's back now. [:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@]

Mine is right above the steering wheel. I thought it was my air conditioner vents but then when I pushed on the dash, it stopped. It's not to loud but when Im not listening to the radio, its annoying. [&:]

Rattles! Hate 'em. And they are just so common on American cars. Grrrrrrrr! Take it in for a warranty run!

Well, what you should do is take it in and have the technician take a short drive with you so you can point out the location and what you do to make it stop rattling. Then they will either tighten up what is loose or put insulation around the problem spot. Rattles are sometimes a difficult thing to isolate and repair.

Just noticed my first rattle two days ago. Passenger side, maybe air bag as mentioned?

My two-step plan to eliminate rattles:

Short term) Turn up Shaker 500.

Long term) Install louder exhaust.
