What would you guys say is the best exhaust for the new GTs? My brother got the 40 series flowmaster, which sound loud but quiet down after 2000rpm. He wants headers now to make it louder. The first person who gave him a quote for install said he had x-pipes, but the person who actually did the job said they were an h-pipe but they were so close to each other that it was almost based on x-design and tech. So what do they really have and which are better? What do other people have and think sound best? MAgnaflow, Basani, flowmaster, etc. Think headers would make a huge difference, and if so how much hp woud he gain at least from it?

 

The stock exhaust is considered an H pipe. Yes, headers will make it MUCH louder. HP gain? Maybe as much as 15 HP with headers. Many folks will argue that however.

 

I have Kooks L/T headers, Catted X and Magnaflow 4 inch Cat back (magnapaks). It's loud and sounds mean. For HP wise, it depends on if you get cats or not.

 

I love the flowmasters. It seems the majority of stang owners use them, so they do something right.

 

I just got the magna flow magnapacks yesterday it sounds amazing but after about 3500 rpms it quiets down but it sounds mean and i dont have an x pipe of headers (yet) but it sounds great... and to add to it mine come out the side so they are about 3 feet from my head .

 

I'm a big fan of Borlas.
