Default DELAY??

I put the pedal to the metal and it takes a second or 2 for the car to kick in and go. Is that normal my car only has 4400 miles on it.. Any suggestions would help.

Welcome to throttle lag caused by drive by wire. Tuner will virtually elimate it, not really anything else you can do. Theres a computer reaclibration technique but its pretty much pointless because youll always have quite a bit of lag from the stock tune.

Give Doug a call and he will walk you through the ins and outs of a Cold Air Intake and a tuner. This is by far the greatest gadget for the V6 Mustang ever invented.

need more input!
Are you manual or automatic?
Is that from standing still or are you moving.

With the auto, I've never seen any real lag from a stop. The real lag can come when I'm at speed and floor it to pass or merge onto the freeway. My workaround has been to keep the auto in O/D Off (4th gear max) when I think I might need to pass quickly. Especially needed here off the 405 where the 2 slow lanes are going stop and go or maybe 25 mph while the people in the 2 fast lanes are flying by at up to 80mph!
Tuners might help that so they probably should come with these cars.

I have a manual stock tune GT and it does what you describe from virtually a standstill. If I start out rolling in first gear, lets say 1000-1500 RPMs, and stomp on it, I get nothing for 1 second of so, and then the thing goes insane. Same thing happens if I want to get going quickly from a dead stop; it will bog down, start moving slowly, and then if I let it I can squeal the tires no problem. Stupid computer!

Yup, I got a tuner and had to bring the car to the dealer...flashed back to stock...what a difference! There was that stupid delay again trying to pass on the highway, and the nice little sputter (I guess you could call it that) between gears when I shifted...CAI and tuner, or even a tuner alone, will make all the difference in the world.
