Default 07 rear deck speaker install

I posted this a while back when there werent so many '07's out yet....but how do you get to the rear deck speakers....apparently the 05 and 06 models have speaker grill.....not the '07 [:@].

Any way to get them out without taking half the rear interior plastic apart>????

Thanks

If you haven't done it yet, no the seatbelts don't have to come off.

I havent looked that close, but on my 07 I just open the trunk and look under the deck a bit and there are the speakers. Very easy to get to, but I didnt look too hard to see what is holding them in. I saw 4 red things that could be what holds them. I may not understand what you mean though.

I have not looked yet, but I assume they are dropped into the hole from above, and with no grill you would have to remove the rear deck cover to get them out

yeah i am pretty sure they dont drop out from the trunk, that would be too easy [:@]....looks like some of the rear plastic has to come out to get the rear deck carpet out to access the speakers.........how the heck do those plastic panels come off, dont want to break anything, are the screw in or clipped on????

have not done mine yet on the 07, but on my stang before it was a combination of the pushpin plastic things and screws/bolts. Pop off your rear seats and you should be able to see and bolts screws that need to be removed. any plasric pins are easy to spot, and you can buy the $8 tool, or make your own to pop them off with out scratching/breaking things.

The rear was always easier for me then the dreaded door panels with the stupid plstic hooks all having to lock in place. I hope the new doors are not like the old ones

They are clipped. Like I said before, not hard at all.
