Mustang Vs. Claybar

RE: Mustang Vs. Claybar
All toghther about 4 1/2 hours of actual scrubbin...I did stop between washes to let the car get bone dry behind the trim and stuff....The waxing went a little smoother because I think I finally learned that more isnt always better! I applied fairly light coats of both waxes and it came off like a dream!! It was a day off well spent! (If I could only convince my wife of that!! )

You coulu probably go straight ahead and start waxing....I just had alot of the detailer overspray and runs that i wanted to wash off....I reallu just did a quickie 2nd wash. It took me like 10 minutes to wash the second time.(Since I already had scrubbe the rims and tires) The water beads really good after just the claybar so it wipes dry real easy. The second wash and drying was quick enough that I could only make it through half of "Dark side of the Moon"!!

Call me a rookie... but I've seen the claybar in the store... Does it apply just like wax? what does it actually do to the car?
and did you use a buffer or just good ole elbow grease?

Claybar removes surface contaminants from your clearcoat. Makes it smooth as glass. You don't really apply claybar. The kit normally comes with a bottle of instant detailer, which you use as a lubricant for the clay bar. Spray a small area, rub that area with the clay bar, then wipe away any residual detailer spray. Then you move on to the next area.....Just gotta keep it well lubricated, or the clay will actually stick to the surface. No buffer, all elbow grease....After completing the entire car, most of the kits include a carnuba wax to apply to the entire surface....
