Default Traction problem!!!!!!!!!!! help!!!!

hi everyone... i recently had some work done to my car... and 1 of the things i did was install 3.90 rear end gears... i get no grip until 3rd gear.. (my 06 gt is automatic)... i nee to find decent tires that hook better than the stock bfg's but will fit the 18x9 bullit rims.... any help is greatly appreciated. i am willing to buy other rims just for racing, but i need to know the right tire/wheel combo so that the tires will hook... please help...

thanks, tony.

get decent Drag radials and you will hook good.. i dont even think you will spin at all.. on the streets you might spin because of all dust/dirt on your tires but at track, once you doa normal burnout, i dont think you will spin AT ALL!!

the cold weather does not help traction on these Z rated tires.

How much you willing to spend? Can it be a summer tire?

Tirerack.com has the Potenza S-03 Pole Position (Max Performance Summer Tire) in your size on closeout for $129 a piece.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....nSpeedRating=V

Check out that site. I guarantee they have what you need.

The stock tires are actually pretty good as far as tires go.

Of course a drag radial will be better.

You also ought to consider suspension mods. I consider lower control arms to be a MANDATORY mod on these cars. There are many other suspension mods that will help as well.

I can't believe nobody has mentioned letting some air out of the back tires. You won't get as much bennefit because of the short sidewall, but every little bit helps. Just make sure that you air them back up before taking to the street.
