ZEX nitrous kit
I'm running the Zex wet kit, with the 75 shot. I had it installed and tuned by Brenspeed. It gives you a real good kick. I'm using his 91 oct. tune with 93 in the tank. Anything past the 75 shot you will need to go to a colder plug and a diffrent tune. The 75 shot is quite safe and should not do any harm as long as you have the right tune and fuel. The Zex system has built in safe gaurds, Brent at Brenspeed can answer any questions you have, go to Brenspeed.com.
As far as long term effects I have read on the diffrent forums people have used it for a long time without any problems, just get the right tune from someone who knows No2.

cfr: Thanks for the info Nitrous has such a bad rap, pretty negative conatation associated with it, blown motors etc. I have heard nothing but great things about the zex kit and you cant beat 75 hp for 600 bucks.

I run a ZEX kit too and I run it at 75 I would not run it higher but definitely do not go above 100 because of this:

OUCH! Is that your engine? If so, will you give us more details about the situation that lead up to that?
Nitrous is safe if it is properly installed with the appropriate safeguards. That means the following:
First and foremost, the Nitrous shot size needs to be appropriate for your engine.
You then need some key kit features (beware--some kits don't include all of these)
1) WOT switch (wide open throttle)---makes sure you are only spraying NOS if the engine is at WOT
2) RPM window switch---only allows the NOS to spray between a certain RPM range. This prevents spraying too low in the RPM range or spraying too close to redline. You want to make SURE the NOS cuts off well before you hit the rev limiter.
3) Fuel pressure switch---shuts off the NOS if your fuel pressure drops too low, which will help prevent a lean-out.
You also have to make sure your ignition, spark plugs, and fuel system are all up to par. Depending on how large a shot you want to run, you might have to replace/upgrade all three of these things. You need to be vigilant about checking your fuel and nitrous filters, you need to run the best gas you can get.
Also, if you are spraying a significant amount of NOS you must retard your ignition timing. This is most commonly done with a special Nitrous tune. You can also set up your system to automatically retard timing when you are spraying, but this requires an aftermarket ignition system like two MSD DIS-4 units, which is an expensive proposition.

found this video while looking for nitrous info, i'm sure it's been posted before.
I'm thinking of adding the 75 shot kit, but since I have a JLT intake I would have to put a hole in it to run this kit, which I don't want to do. Doesn't this kit require you to put a hole in the stock intake tube? That's also something I don't want to do.

Any nitrous kit requires you to make a hole somehwere to install the nitrous injector nozzle, including the ZEX kit. Most commonly you drill a hole in the intake pipe and put the injector there.
The only exception that I know of is the Nitrous Express "plate kit", which fits onto the throttle body, just like a throttle body spacer. It has built-in nozzles.
