I've got the chuckle now! Just ordered part number 8R3Z-18183-B strut mounts. The noise started last week at 12,000 miles. Found this thread and now I'll put the parts in myself. Thanks for the info guys.

I'm not sure but I think I have the same problem and have since the car was new. My 05 GT makes a thunk noise when I cut the wheel sharply and move at low speeds. For example I back out my driveway, cut the wheel and hear a distinct thunk that sounds like metal on metal. The first few times I thought I had run over something.

What is the 800 number we all need to call and complain to?

Hey yall! How's things been goin? I've been off this forum for months doin other things. Thought I'd stop in to see how this thread is doing. Wow! I can see lots more people have hooked up and gotten help from here. Cool! So happy it has helped so many people!
My car is still not thunking by the way. Have almost 21K on her now. Still quiet! I think I had the strut mounts changed back at around 4 to 6K miles if I remember correctly. So it's a good lasting fix for those wondering,,, so far ;-).
Still haven't added the supercharger but soon, that is soon after the economy turns around. Geesh! Can you believe those jerks! Biggest screw up in history and it could have been prevented! Okay, have fun yall and good luck to everyone during these tough times!

Hmmm, the '08 were supposed to have the new updated mounts. Check your end links.

Have checked end links and all other nuts and bolts in the front. Dealer is telling me that it is my Eibach Pro Kit Springs.

I have an 08 and I have the issue also. I just purchased the new strut bearings yesterday and are putting them on in two weeks. My dealer told me I had the new ones but these look slightly different then the ones that are currently on my car. We will see if it is fixed after replacing them.

I'm sorry to say that as the temperatures are dropping around here, I too am starting to notice the "front-end clunk" noise from my 08. And here I thought I had dodged a bullet, getting an 08 as a replacement from my 06, which definitely had this problem.

It's always something with these cars...it's a love/hate relationship :-\
