Well, not really.
My nephew bought an 06 GT auto like mine and he wants to race. That is, he wants to race after he puts on his CAI with a Predator Tune and his new 4:10 gear. Mine is totally stock of course. Tell me, how bad am I going to get beat. Don't blow smoke, just give it to me straight.

 

Well to be safe... assume a .4 improvement with the new CAI and probably another .2 from the gears... so pretty bad.

 

Well at least he will feel good about the money he's spending!

 

+1 there! It wont be close- You'll def loose and your gonna here about it. I say get a Cold Air, SCT XCal II and pulley's and DONT say anything about it... haha. That'll surprise the hell outta him! Thats what I would do anyway [:-]

 

Sorry guys but the best mod to do on a car is the gears. There is no way around it. I have seen stock gts with 4.10's break loose on 1st gear, I can't say that for a gt with just cai/tune.

I dont have gears yet but I have been thinking about it... switch to Cold Air- SCT Xcal II - and some gears!

 

What about 3:55 against 4:10??? Is there a great difference when jumping off the line??? Just some opinions here.

 

What do the pulleys do for me? I know they say it adds about 10 hp but I don't understand how.

 

Pulleys will free up some HP from accessories.

 

Pully reduce the load on the engine, thus freeing up HP to the wheels. 4.10s are the way to go. With the CAI and 4.10s he'll cook you.
