Default Hurst Shifter

Well, Christmas is coming up and my parents keep wanting ideas for some of the things I want. I knew I wanted something for my car, and initially I wanted a Pioneer AVIC-Z1. After seeing the price tags on these I figured it was a little much. I was thinking about the Hurst shifter because its not overly expensive and its a good mod for the car. I would also be able to get something else.

Have any of you guys had experience with this shifter, or the Steeda Tri Ax?
If you've had both, which one do you like better?
How smooth is the shift?
Do you like the way the white shift ball looks?

Thanks, any input is appreciated.

Hurst has proven itself throughout muscle car history. Definately the best choice IMHO for a shifter. In case you need other ideas check out the SLP Loud Mouths, Tunable Induction CAI w/ SCT Xcal2 tuner, and some 4.10 gears!

Well of course chirostang is going to say tri-ax since he has one...

Anyway if you care about the classic handle and hurst white ball go with Hurst. As a bonus you reduce your throw buy 50%, if you care about the best of the best get the Pro 5.0. Anyway the difference is not going to result in better track times if that's what you are going for.

Nah, I don't go to the track much. Me and my dad may go to a quarter mile strip soon, becuase he just bought a 1966 Ford Fairlane GT and wants to run my 06 GT in it. Im just looking for better driveablity. I think I can beat the Fairlane GT, but hes been talking about getting a GT500 and driving it on weekends... then id be screwed to say the least... or maybe he would let me drive it some

i got the hurst shifter and boy do i love it. took almost 50 percent of the throw away and made third gear much easier to get into, very hard to miss now. One thing that i did that made shifting even smoother is change the oil in the trainsmission with royal purple oil. Instant improvement. So if you do that combo you should love it. and if you put the shifter in yourself just change the oil while your down there. Hoped i helped and have fun with your Pony
