In brief, the 2005 Mustang GT will be heavier than the 2004's because of added safety equipment (to meet gov't standards) and larger size. However, the added horsepower still compensates for the additional weight making it faster in the 0-60 and quarter mile. The new GT is comparable to the Mach 1's as far as track times go. It is said the ride feels more "solid" than the 04's. Keep in mind, these were completely stock runs and the drivers capabilities, track conditions, etc. will affect times...

That's all I know...

fast-autos.net has all the specs posted. Curb weight may be different because 15.7 gallons of gas weighs alot!

If im not mistaken the 2004 weight is wrong, that is the v-6 you have there. 2004 GT was showing almost 3300 pounds.

Ive seen a stock 99+ GT run a 14.0 and I KNOW that the Mach 1 can hit deep into the 13s. Thanks for the info though.

a v6 weghs about 3300 lbs from factory, the GTs weigh about 250 lbs more. the 05 GTs are supposed to weigh within 100 lbs of the 04 GTs. and how is the mach1 so much heavier, there is not that much difference except in the engine.
