this may seem like a silly question, but this is my first GT, first new car, and first color/options that I wanted. so, it is a big deal to me.

I Live in Phoenix, AZ (hotter than hell) and drive it about 8-10 miles a da, just work and back. should the oil be changed every 3k or 6k Miles or every 3 or 6 months ??

Also what is the best oil/filter out there for mustangs??

Oil is cheap so do it every 3k with a good quality oil. Takes about 20 minutes and about $15.

 

I do mine every 3k. I didn't own the car for its first 3 oil changes. The first obviously had the factory oil and filter, the second is a mystery for me but was probably ok because the dealer I got it from said the oil looked clean but they changed it anyway, and the third was done when I got the car at 7500. It had a valvoline filter so maybe the same brand oil. I just changed it again at 11000 and put in pennzoil platinum full synthetic with a nice k&n filter. Ran very smooth.

 

What's the best aoil and filter is a loaded question with lots of opinions.
I personally use Mobil 1 5w20 and Motorcraft Filters. You can get the filters pretty cheap at WalMart. And the Mobil 1 you should be able to get there also. The oil filters are the only thing i buy at WalMart though.
