Default driveshaft question

okay so i know that the shifting being a little clunky has to do with the 2 piece driveshaft. My question is do they make a 1-piece driveshaft? and if so, does it make a big difference?

They have many threads on this and go to powerhouse411.com. They just had many subscribers to the forum buy this model and it is one piece aluminum and 30 lbs lighter! They said it was like going from pulling something behind the car to smother quicker more responsive shifting and off the line starts! Hope it helps!

BMR Carbon Fiber One-Piece Driveshaft 2005+ Mustang. BMR carbon fiber driveshafts provide a variety of benefits for your '05 Mustang. The overcomplicated factory two-piece shaft weighs an unbelievable 42.3 lbs. as compared to our 20.7lb. one-piece carbon fiber replacement. This rotational weight reduction alone is responsible for gains of 15+ rear wheel horsepower.
I HAVE ONE BUT THE PRICE IS VERY HIGH

I think the carbon fiber was 800-1000 and the aluminum is 650-750! go to powerhouse411 and check there website!

you got 15 rwhp? I thought the driveshaft was only adding 10[&:]. Did you get it dynoed? B/c the aluminum one's weigh the same and only put out 10. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but if the carbon puts out 5 more hp's I'll get that one instead of the aluminum one which I planned on getting.

The Powerhouse aluminum driveshaft is actually LIGHTER than the BMR carbon fiber shaft, by 2-3 lbs. My powerhouse weighed 18.2 lbs. If anything, you should see more HP from the aluminum shaft than the CF (though the difference would be very small)

The advantage of the CF is that it can handle more HP, and it is also safer in an accident. The CF will turn into "string" whereas the aluminum one could make shrapnel, just like a steel driveshaft.

It looks to me like stangoil just cut-and-pasted BMR's adcopy. I don't know if he actually got the 15 HP on his personal dyno run.

Also keep in mind that no two dynos are alike. You might pull 305 on one dyno, drive to another one across town and pull 300 even...

You'd seriously pay $300 more for 5hp? Not me, but I don't believe the carbon fiber shaft frees up more HP either. It sounds like he was quoting an advertisement for the CF shaft.

Okay guys, I'm gonna show my ignorance here.... Don't be too harsh

If "The overcomplicated factory two-piece shaft weighs an unbelievable 42.3 lbs." is true, then why on earth do we have a two piece anyway? I don't understand why we've overcomplicated something as simple as a driveshaft.

Old school says get rid of the throttle-by-wire and the two piece driveshaft and we'd have fewer complaints about driveability issues.

Many fewer forum posts also.
