Default 20" front 17" rear?

Ok here is the problem front tires and rear tires with my 20" rims measure 26.7". Bought 17" rims for back with micky's drag radials height 26" will this look dumb?
I will only be running them on the way to the track and on the track. just can,t find a 20" tire that hooks up like slicks even if they are drag radial. anyone going throught this?

It should work fine and I doubt that anyone will notice the .7" difference!

Wont really matter, I have 1.5 inch less rears because I wanted to experiment with a makeshift 3.78 gear to see if I like the swap.

of course it will look dumb. You should have gotten a whole set of 17's for the track. Why didn't you go with a taller tire with your 20's? Your sidewall is 3.4 inches with those tires, so of course it's going to spin because there's no sidewall flex.

Lol did you even read the post? he said he has 17 rears for the track. WTF do you need sidewall for in the front ones for the track?

You don't, but atleast it wouldn't look as dumb, plus it would drop weight. I assumed he meant a 17 inch rim in the rear and 20 inch in the front would look dumb, how silly of me.

Of course he meant the obvious (in the most sarcastic voice possible) .5 inch difference in overall diameter would look dumb.

yes I could buy front rims but I have a set of 20" and 17" stock for parking in winter and now 2- 17" with slicks that may run once a month . I do not mind spending more but the 700 for a tire and rim x 2 would cover the cost of the torque converter I need. Just asking if any one had done it. I can't be the only one that likes the looks of 20's and whats to run the track with 17" rears.

So you're concerned that the .7 inch difference in overall diameter will look dumb? I wouldn't be concerned with that, as no one will be able to tell. The difference in height will only be half of .7 inches, so .35. What will look dumb IMO of course is a 17 inch rim in the back with the 20's in the front. It's not going to cause a problem besides a few people looking at you funny on the way to the track. Keeping the 20's on the front is going to be counter productive though.

$700 for a stock 17 and tire? That's not right. You don't need drag radials in the front.

17" rim is 469.00 and 231 for rubber if you go to the expense to buy 17" rim I would spend the extra for matching rubber

Why don't you buy 2 stock 17's for the track, you can get them (rim and tire) all day long on ebay for $400 for all 4!
