Default Backpressure?

I was talking to afriend at work about switching to dual exhaust on my car, and he told me without headers, the car would lose power because of backpressure. Can anyone confirm this? Is there anyone running duals without new headers that can feel a noticeable loss of power, and most importantly, are there any headers out on the market that I can install without voiding the warranty?

+1, it is actually better to have less backpressure. Doesn't help much down low, but helps up top a lot.

*Waits for Mustangman to explain thoroughly*

Oh geese lol...here we go again with the never ending quarrell..

It is bad... The less pressure the better, there is no reason you need to keep compression in your exhaust system.

Magnaflow and other exhaust companies pride themselves in relieving backpressure.[8D]
Well that guy has been proven wrong a billion times.....he therefore is a tool.

pffft, you were being serious. [&:]

Being serious now, backpressure sucks, it restricts air flow, yadda yadda.

Actually i like to run 1.5inch pipes instead of the 2.25 inch ones because of the great back pressure gains.
