Default Programming a Keyless Entry Keypad

Got a new keyless entry keypad for the Stang. Unfortunately, the instruction sheet only lists vehicles through 2004. Anyone know the sequence of events that are required to place the car into programming mode for the pad and fobs? According to the instructions, it could be any one of 9 different ways.

No sweat Rex. I'll just do the 'ole trial-and-error method until it works. I'll repost with details when I get it working.

The steps involved in programming a key fob or keyless entry pad are quite simple. You may program up to 4 fobs or any combination of fobs and keypads equaling 4 total devices.

1) Get in car
2) Close all doors
3) Insert key into ignition
4) Turn ignition to run, then off 8 times in 10 seconds, with the final position being the run position (locks will cycle indicating program mode is on)
5) Press any key on your keyfob (locks will cycle indicating the fob is stored in memory)
6) Press any key on your second fob (locks will cycle again)
7) Press the combination on your keypad or any key on another fob (locks will cycle again)
8) Turn ignition to off
9) Remove key

You're done.

Hey Mike. Long time no hear from....

Yeah, it was a little rough dealing with the technical stuff after last night's festivities. I think I had maybe one too many beers, but I can't quite remember. [sm=partyparty.gif]

I thought for a long time about where to put the pad because it's pretty big and it just wouldn't look right on the door, so I put it under the lip of the rear bumper, just below the license plate area. You can't see it from up top, but it's still easy to reach there. It's pretty cool, you can lock and unlock the doors or the trunk from the keypad. $99 at Steeda.com and it's a genuine Ford part, not a knockoff.

Same to you and yours buddy....

Mike,
Thanks. Ditto on your ride, man she's lookin' sweet.

Just to catch you up on the latest, I've got a couple'a more mods on the way but they didn't make it here by Christmas. My wife ordered me an autodim/compass/temp rearview mirror and the pony plenum cover from Partscheap.com on Dec 8. I must admit, it was a little disappointing having the long delay in shipping. I suppose they had some issues with availability or some such thing. Oh, and I also added the Legends chin spoiler/splitter last week.... Been wanting that one a while.

Finally, I almost pulled the trigger on a Saleen S/C a couple of weeks ago but chickened out at the last minute. That'll be my next serious mod but I just couldn't part with the $5500 right now. Maybe if I hit the lottery or something....

UB,

Thanks for the info on programming the key pad. Also, you will like the mirror. Just installed one on mine on Saturday.

Hey Rusty, you're just the guy I need to talk to. You got any words of wisdom for me on the install of the mirror? Did you tiap it into the overhead console for power? If so, how do you get the overhead console off?

Any info would be appreciated.[sm=hail.gif]
