The mustang V6 is not a drift car.. One wheel burnouts don't cut it.
You will need a manual as you need control over your powerband, in some cars I guess you
could get away with the sport shift autos but not with the mustang slushbox

Most Drift classes will not put you close to a wall, they will genereraly use cones to set the course. As far as the V6 being a decent drift car, it can be a good one if done properly.

It is possible to drift an auto, I have done it, dependin on the car it can be more difficult but in an Auto Muatang GT it is possible although a Manual will give you more control. Drifting isn't easy so have patience and just practice, we use to go to empty, open space, way out of the way parking lots at night since there are not alot of places to go practice legit on a regular basis.

also, a manual makes it 1000000x easier for rev match downshifts and clutch kicks.

I can't imagine even trying to do it with the auto there is way to much peddle to action lag to have constant control over the slide it's hard enough keeping it going in the snow.

I've never had a problem with it in the snow and I have driven it the past two winters, this one being my third, although it hasn't really snowed here yet this season. I drifted it a few times but never to the point of my tires smoking, i just was drifting a little to take the turns to keep up with my brothers Viper.

You might want a little more power in that ride to make drifting a little easier.

All of you should be beaten senseless and left for dead in a Subaru.
This is a MUSTANG FORUM people. What's next? feelings? manners? men named Terri? Now slap yourselves silly and start thinking about engine displacement and aggressive cams.
