Are you talking about the new shifter they came out with for automatics?

It can't be the new one for the automatics because it isn't out yet. It must be one of the manual shifters. I'm watching the one for the automatics and it is still a couple months out. It's a ratchet shifter that goes in the console. http://www.bmracing.com/index.php?id...=1&pid=363
Ignore the 5R55E reference, that is a typo and should say 5R55S. -Joe

Silly question... ratchet shifting... I assume that means it only for upshifting????

No, it's like you see in some sporty cars stock. The ratchet shift means the stick is always in the same position. If you push it forward, it will up shift 1 gear then it spring returns to the middle. When you pull it back, it down shifts 1 gear and returns to the middle. If you've ever tried manually shifting an automatic drag racing you know sometimes the adrenaline pushes it 2 gears instead of 1 when you're trying to go fast. The Mustang is so good, I let the auto tranny handle the shifting.Driving around on the street though I like to control the gearing sometimes. It's more for fun for me. Bracket racing, nothing is more consistant than the auto. I know, I know, the next question is why didn't you get the stick. The embarassing answer is I'm old and have authritis. The clutch is no fun for me. -Joe

Oh, great... just what I need.... ANOTHER mod to put on my list!!! LOL!

I love my automatic and I agree with you 100% about being great at the drag strip... I have my auto setup the way I like it... The shift points are to my liking... However when I get in the twistys I sometimes feel I would like to downshift... and as you pointed out... it's easy to move the shifter a little to much! So... sounds like this will be just what I'm looking for!
