Default A Question about tune.

Hi, first time posting but troll around this forum, GREAT help on many things. I figured id ask specific about my car. I have a 2006 gt 5 speed with off-road H pip, slp loudmouths, bbk intake, and a hurst ss. My main question is i was thinking about doing an sct tune from brenspeed, but how significant of a diff would i notice? After reading many threads on here i dont really have many mods, minor bolt on at best, is it worth it for the tune? Would anyone know a ballpark number HPid be putting down with/without this tune? Any advice will be great, and thanks for all the prior help you guys dont know you've given me, lol.

Well I can't see a tune not picking up some HP and throttle respone for you, but I could be wrong. Does the BBK intake not require a tune?

Hmmmm... good question i really didnt investigate much on whether or not it requiers a tune....after reading some other posts it seems id do more harm then good sticking it on there without one. Lol there i go not doing my homework on stuff i throw on my car. Brenspeed seems to be the favorite on this site, what do i do just email them my mods and they install that onto the sct in which i buy from them? Seems simple enough lol.

[align=left]If you did not get a check engine light when you installed the intake, it probably doesn't require a tune. Your vehicle is still running leaner, but it is not enough for the engine to throw a check engine light. The tuner is probably one of the best mods for the money. It will lessen the throttle lag and make the car a lot more responsive. In most cases, it will feel like a new car. Brenspeed is definitely a great place to get the tuner from. I got mne from B amachips, which is also a good tuner. You tell them the mods you have and they make a tune for those mods. Then, you just have to plug it in and install it.

thanks a lot for your input guys, ill be sure to give brent a call sometime this week. Also, the check engine light is on but i figured it was from the off-road x pipe without the cats, maybe both that and the intake? Oh well, a tune will cure both.
