Default 3M Tape Question?

I had to remove my side louvers and I had to remove the tape and I am having a real hard time finding the stuff that was on there does anyone know what the part# of the soft black double sided body tape is ? it's kinda special since it's almost like thick tar and works well on a curved area unlike normal double sided tape.

I called the company I got the louvers from and they did not know what it was other then 3M body tape and it came on the louvers from the factory so no help there also searching the net was not a big help since 3M has about 1.5 mill different kinda of tape and everyone uses the same 2 pictures to describe them all, local auto parts shops only have the white spongie double side tape so there out and I can't think of to many other places that would carry that kinda of thing I will swing by Home Depot and see if I can get lucky there.

Any help would be great and a link would be even better, Thanks in ADV

Hey man, go to either Autozone or Pep Boys or Discount and look for 3M body moulding/mounting tape. It has red, peelable backing on it. Its essentially the same stuff that you need. I had to use it for my rear decklid panel when the original tape didn't adhere completely. The tape is usually found over by the paint/prep area of the store.

Oh yeah, if you can't find it, I'll send you the rest of mine, or a few feet of the tape, or whatever you need. Just let me know.

I would also suggest using this product prior to applying the tape to the louver. And you can also use it on the car but be very careful with it. By the way This will make it stick and stick very good.

Yeah I have attached a few things with the tape and will do it the right way, I am getting a new set of hinges from MRT-Direct for the back louver and it is comming with some promoter and I had plenty extra last time so it will cover both jobs but Thank you very much for suggesting it they just don't stick as well or as long without using it.
