Shifter Question: Just Ordered
I just ordered the Hurst shifter from RPM Outlet ($159.95 w ****). Am I going to need a "boot" for the chrome shifter lever or will the factory (stock) one work or is one not needed?
I just installed mine a couple weeks ago. Getting the stock **** off of the boot is fairly simple. Use "delicate force" and it should come right off. You'll get an adapter with your Hurst that fits in the boot and slides over the shifter. Getting this adapter in was quite difficult! I had to use a small screwdriver to EASE it in there. Its a tight fit but if done correctly looks GREAT!
Congrats on the Hurst. It was my first Mod and I love it so far!! Really notchy and looks great!
Any questions I'll try to help you! Good luck!

My first mod too. I am going to let the dealer do this. They're installing this, lowering it, adding white stripes, and tinting the windows. Cant wait. Still trying to decide on the best CAI but havent landed on a decision yet.
on air intake i would recommend either the C&L kit with a tuner or the JLT II kitwith a tuner, most people on here highly recommend brenspeed.com. I have the JLT II with the SCT II tuner and it's awesome great throttle response and i'm getting slightly better gas mileage as well.

I, too, have the Hurst. Great shifter.
I also went to Brenspeed for the SCT - just be aware you'll probably need a dyno tune to get the numbers they claim.
My first dyno pull after installing their tune was 297 at the wheels.
Then I went to Fastlane Motorsports in Benson NC - and Caleb dyno tuned me 330 at the wheels.
Just don't be surprised if your numbers aren't what you hope for with the canned tune.

33 h.p. increase over Brent's tune? Did you have it tuned after you put the cams in or before you put the cams in? I gurantee you didn't pick up 33 h.p. over Brents tune by having some guy just adjust Brents tune or giving you a new tune. Dyno #'s can be made to read anything the guy running it wants it to.
