Default Midas and Flowmasters!

Ok, Peep this! I wentto Midas this morning and got 2 Flowmaster 40 series, Installed I paid $350. In about 2 hours I was on my home happy as a ****. As usual I am hauling *** and I hear a rattle comming from the back, common sence tells me it must be my mufflers. I get home and look under my car and I see that one of the exhaust hangars on the drivers side muffler has broke off. WTF????????? Not even 1 hour old!!!!! So I start back to midas and the other hanger broke off I get out and my muffler is hanging next to the ground. The weld holding the hanger to the muffler. Luckally I had a wire hanger in the trunk and rigged the muffler to make ot back to midas! I was in and out in 1/2 hour after the repair. The mechanic said the weld broke because the welder is a piece of ****, the weld would not penitrate through the muffler skin. So to make a long story short, so far it has been a pain the *** but they sure do sound sweet!

What year is your car? If it's a 2005+ you could have just bought the axle backs for $300 and installed them yourself

the mufflers in the axle-back kit are NOT 40 series mufflers. they are a unique design specific to our car. im actually going to remove mine and install 40 series.

You should not have had to have anything welded. The bad thing is you probably got a bubble gum weld job even by the guy who fixed itthe second time. Around the weld will be the firstplace to rust you might consider touching up the weld with high temp. paint.

The mufflers did not come with hangar brackets on them from the factory? So, if they are not to be welded how else put them on there? just wondering?

I guess that is thedraw back to having the work done at Midas. If you couldhave ordered them for your car the brackets would have come welded on.

That would be good if I wanted the American thunder! However, I wanted the 40 series!

I have the same mufflers on my Marauder. They sound good on the 4.6 MOD V8, don't they? [8D]
Might have to do what you did and buy another set, this time for my GT.
