Default Future mods, which brand to go with???

Okay guys I have bee doing alot of searching and looking at different brands for the following mods:

UDPs
DS 3.5" 600hp aluminum drive shaft
O/R X pipe

I have read many posts by Crazy Al and vsop etc. in regards to quality of fabriation, fit, finish, and quality of the materials used.
In regards to LTs, which are in the distant future, Dynatech, American Racing, and Kooks seem to be universallyexcellent products.
I have also seen many of you guys with the CMCV delete plates and some say they got theirs for 100 bucks but most popular web sites including our sponsors have them from steeda for 360 bucks. This mod interests me but it looks like too much to tackle for a very novice do it yourselfer.
Additionally I will want to get adjustable lower control arms. Am I correct that getting adjustable LCA will not require the relocation brackets? Lowering the car will be last, after wheels and other stuff. They seem to range from 260 for BMR and 190 for UPR

Now onto my current questionspecific to the UDPs and the O/R X pipe. Examples taken from the Leathal Performance site.
UDPs that range from $180 (Granatelli) - $280 (Steeda) bucks.
O/R X pipes UPR has one for $165 bucks and bassani has one for $280 bucks.

Am I missing something? Is there a big difference in these manufactures or quality on the materials? Am I losing out on something by buying the cheapest stuff, or do you get what you pay for?

As far as the drive shaft, it seems the 3.5" is the best out there as far as clearance, weight, price, etc.

Lastly, with the claims of whp gain from the 3 products, UDPs, O/R X pipe, and the DS drive shalft it all adds up to about 40whp, obviously with a good dyno tune, but does this sound right or inflated?

Thanks for all your help!

BMR Carbon Fiber driveshaft, rated to 1000hp. They 'claim' a 15hp increase. Spendy, but it only weighs 20.3 lbs.

Mine is on order.

Little steep for me but 1000 hp is nice and won't have to upgrade later....about a 400 dollar difference though right?

Yea, the cheapest I've found for the BMR is 949.00 Pretty spendy, but nothing else compares, for strength, weight, and overall quality. BMR is one of the best out there. Some of the aluminum ones are very nice also though!

Well, I did my research on UDP's, and from different shops to other S197 owners all said Steeda is the best one out there. Now I went though BrenSpeed for mine, and I paid like $206. with free shipping!! Brent's selling them now for $199.95, and I'm assuming with the same Free shipping offer.

Very true. I'm only expecting to see "maybe" a 5 hp gain. But since I have already changed out the gears, and have a blower (KB 2.6L) and have over 440 hp, I wanted a beefed up drive shaft. The stock DS is pretty pathetic. When I get it installed I'll have it Dyno'd to see what kind of gain, if any, it will give me.

Thanks for the replies guys but I think this thread is getting off track.

I already have CAI+tune, FRPP 4.10s, and SLP LMaxle back.

I don't need a $1000 carbon fiber drive shaft rated at 1000hp, plus I don't want clearance issues or the additional expense of fitting the right mounting plates.

For the X pipe and the UDPs, do you get what you pay for? Or should I just get the cheapest ones out there provided they have the same materials as the others?
If FRPP has the delete plates for $89 and cast iron material, why should I buy the Steeda set for $360??? I know the Steeda's are billet aluminum and predrilled for nitrous but I won't be going that route so . . . . . they don't seem worth the cost.

What's everyone's opinion on UPR, they seem to always have lower prices, does their quality, fit and finish match their price?

Always go with FRPP if possible. I wonder how much hp gain CMVC deletes really give in non supercharged applications, i have yet to see just those dynoed before and after. Seems the turbulence the CMVC makes helps the low end.
