Shaving antena
I am interesed inremovingthe antena. I have seen the antena's that install into the top of your windshield. Does anyone know where these are available. And has anyone done this and have pictures? Does the wiring show, or is it all hidden. Also how hard is the install? Thanks alot!

The install is super simple, takes about 30 minutes. I wrote up instructions, here they are:

The trick is that you need to provide power to the antenna. You only want the antenna to have power when the radio is on. I found the best source for power was pin2 of the J1 connector on the Shaker 500/1000. This ping provides power only when the radio is on. use a vampire tap to connect the antenna power lead to this wire.
I had the antenna hole welded shhut and filled in by my local body shop. The paint was a perfect match. You can't tell there was ever an antenna on the fender.

RE: Shaving antena
UHG Garbage Motors used to think windshield antenas were all "THAT" they s@ck.
I would have a hard time beleiving they have gotten any better although based on those install pics it does seem to be a fare cry from the thin defroster style windshield antenasof old

I have Tune Trapper (non powered ) under dash. It's pretty good but I'm not into pretty good. I think in early spring I'm gonna put a power unit in. stainless with small almost flush stainless base. Goes up when rad on, down when off. ...just like we had in the 60s and 70s; have done two so far (61 fairlane, 65 vette) reception awesome in both.
