Default My EXHAUST INSTALLATION experience with KOOKS...

OK, well thanks for all the feedback in the previous posts about my installation.

The following is what happened...

I drove my car to Kooks Custom Headers in Long Island and was greeted by George Jr. who was extremely nice. We chatted for a bit about some stuff in general and then I asked him how I should install the cat-back. He said that I shouldn't weld them onjust in caseI wanted to remove them or do some work on the car etc... He did say he would tack weld (?) them on for me so that it could be extra secure. He gave me a tour of the shop and it was gorgeous and immaculate. I would trust them just byhow the shop looked. He also treated me as if I brought in a Ferrari...meanwhile it was a measly GT. He also mentioned to me how they just finished a ride for Jeff Gordon. All in all, it was an awesome experience. Oh yeah, he also had someone drive me to the train station to get to and from work -talk about customer service.

Now about the MACs...

They have the sound that I want to the T. The tips in the back look awesome but I need to give them a little polish. It looks and sounds mean as hell. The only negative is the resonance. Holy crap it's LOUD at 1800-2000 RPMs. I really didn't expect it to have that much drone...but it sure does. Anywhere but 1800-2000 sounds incredible! I was under a overpass and revved the engine up and everyone looked at me as if I had a ***** on my head....it was awesome! If I can somehow eliminate a tad bit of the drone...it would be beyond what I ever dreamed of. Thanks for all your help!!

If the SLP's or Stingersare louder than this....you guys are CRAZY!!!

G

someone posted this before when i was looking in another section on the site

they have an older model but its all about sound deflection so i assume its the same thing. as long as you have room under the s197 for it.

Mine got louder as the Cats broke in also. I have stingers and was a little disapointed how quite they were. But after about 500 miles or so they are way louder.

No gains...just sound. The drone is starting to bother me though...it's TOO loud. I don't think it's normal and it's unbearable.
