Fuel Fill Flapper
I just noticed the other day when filling the tank on my 06 GT that there was no flapper in the filler neck. I never noticed before so I don't know if it is supposed to have one. Every other car I have (including an '03 Ford product) has a spring-loaded flapper covering the opening in the filler neck that gets pushed open when the fuel nozzle is inserted. I'm not sure of the purpose but I'm hoping it didn't fall in some how. I've always had the infamous slow fuel fill problemwhich I assumed was the nature of the design and I don't need an extra obstacle to add to it if it somehow fell in blocking the neck. It seems to fill okay if I do it slowly as I always have to.
Can someone verify that there is/is-not a flapper? Thanks.
