Default lowering springs

I just ordered a set of steeda ultra-lite lowering springs, and i read on here a few different things i need cleared up. Im planning on installing these myself as was wondering exactly what all else i would need. So far as i understand im going to obviously need an alignment, and possibly camber bolts? Ive alse read that uca's and lca's are needed, are these neccissary or just recommended? I dont really want a "****ty" ride, but if these things are pretty much neccissary ill wait for the funds to install the springs. Thanks for the help :-)

the camber bolts are probable - they are cheap 20 bucks or so. an adjustable panhard bar is required to center the rear end. the rear will always shift to the left - how much varies car to car. you will need either an adjustable upper or lower control arms to correct the pinion angle after lowering. It is better to get the lowers because they are easier to get to and the factory lowers on these cars suck anyway, so your killing two birds with one stone.these factors change on every car, the springs determine how much. the rears on these cars have been known to be noticeably off center from the factory, which also explains why it varies car to car. it's a good idea to be prepared to do all of them up front. Don't go with lowers that have poly bushings on both ends - they will bind up. Go with a poly/rod end combo or J&M's, which have a poly "ball" bushing that wont bind.

thank you for the reply, so as i understand after looking up these parts all together it will run me roughly $700- $800 to lower my car? Any reccomendations on brands or types of uca or lca i can get to bring the price down alittle? Sorry for the dumb questions but i already got the springs ( big mistake i know) lol, and im just trying to make it work for the lowest amount possible for now.

I have an adjustable Panhard bar on ebay that is slightly used but in perfect condition for $85.00 shipped. I paid $125.00 for it. Item #170072584085.

I was going to start a thread on this, but this thread is basically the same thing. I hope you don't mind me hijacking the thread...

I just received the Ultra-Lites as well. I have the adjustable panhard bar, and will be getting camber bolts. I was not aware of the need to change either the upper controls arm or the lowers. I understand that lowering the car will change the pinion angle, but the universal joint at the rearend should account for a rather slight change, no?When you are going over rough ground, the driveshaft is oscillating througha range of pinion angles, and there is no harm to the drivetrain.

I am not doubting that the IDEAL plan would be to keep the factory pinion angle. I am questioning whether it is worth the effort to do so. Any opinions would be appreciated.

I have had mine lowered since 5/05 and I have not stopped spending money yeton improving the suspension. So basically you will drive yourself nuts with all the upgrades that are possible. Here are the things that I have done.
Tokico D-Specs,Adjustable Panhard rod which is a must if you go with a significant drop.Upper Panhard support,Adjustable LCA's w/relocation brackets. You also should have your rear pinion angle checked. Keep in mind any time you change anything on the front end you will need to get a alignment done which runs about $70
I am getting ready to buy Steeda's heavy dutyupper strut mounts and a set of adjustable front endlinks. Also Steeda's X-5 ball joints. So once you start buying suspension parts it is very hard to stop.Welcome to the frustrated club.

Ok, im going down about 1 inch, so an adjustable panhard rod and adjustable LCA's is everything i would "need" to make it work right? lol i know theres a million and one upgrades, but im just looking to lower it a bit, and keep the stock ride ( if not then at least close to).

We put Sportlines on these 2. They both have 295/30/20 Toyos tucked in the back. Nothing else and they both ride fine, rougher than stock but come on, you aren't driving a Caddy. IT'S A LOWERED MUSTANG.
