Default 4.10 gears

For all you guys with aftermarket gears. I am looking to buy 4.10 for my 06 manual GT. Is there any difference between the quality of the Ford Racing and the Motive Performance? Also the websight recommends a Master bearing kit. What is this and do I need it if I am going to have a shop install the gears. There is also an installation kit. What is this?

I've always heard that Motive gears whine alot. Ford is supposed to be quieter. If you have a good mechanic that really sets them up right, even the Motive gears will not whine. Mine did at first, but now, it makes no sound whatsoever.

Yeah I tried the search feature without too much luck on these kits. Going to order tomorrow and was hoping for some quick info. The websight actually advertises that the Motive do not whine.

If you live in Jersey, Jerseyblood, Then you should check out Joe Heck Racing in lakewood. They "Stock" Ford Gears because they do so many gear changes, this is where I'm going to have mine done. Give them a call, they can answer all your questions

helical cut gears will not whine if installed properly

yes, get a bering kit, it is not 100% needed, but its like running 87 octane on a 93 tune, you have it done, dont be cheap and cause problems later on

you will also need a tuner if you dont have one talk to justin at vmptuning.com

good luck, you will either a.) love the 4.10s or b.) hate yourself for not going with 4.30s

i have the frpp 410 and love em -- You need someone to install it unless you have done it before and know what you are doing -- your stang wont run right if your backlash is off even slightly

I 'm getting these soon and Brenspeed sells the kit with motive gears. Is there a good place that can install these? Where should I go to a transmission shop or Ford or What?
