Bad Quote?
I got a quote to get my rear bumper painted and installed (gt500), and it was 450 (bumper was only 279)..is this reasonable or too much. Going to see how much the body shop at the ford dealer charges.
O, this was from a reputable, high end body shop.
Any first hand quotes would be well appreciated.

RE: Bad Quote?
Maybe a little high, but not much. Primer-Paint- Clearcoat + Misc shop supplys +Labor. If they are high end and reputable, I'd think it was a good competitive quote.
See what the FORD guy's quote is. Remember, the FORD shop is 1 dept. of the dealership/profit center.
The bodyshop you went to sounds like that's pretty much all they do, and that would be a better job

RE: Bad Quote?
If $450 is just for paint, prep, clearcoat, and install, it is right in line with the average price. Of course you can get it done for less, but that would involve *knowing* someone, so to speak. Of course you could pay way more than that as well.
For a reputable shop at which you don't know the owner, that is a wholly acceptable price.
If $450 includes the bumper itself as well, PM the name, address, phone, names of employees, etc. so I can get a rate like that!

How much is the GT 500 front fascia, head lamps, grille, etc? No fog lamps. A little off topic, but I'm curious.

..yeh the gt500 front is like 1300. It is a lot because you need the new grilles, fogs, lights, bumper isolators, chin spoiler..etc
Ford dealer says 400.
I think I'm going to go with the body shop. They do really good work, and it is with install. so for 50 bux more, I think its better idea if I went with them.
I'll post pics when its finished. hopefully I'll drop it off tomorrow or the next day. And I'm going to get an exhaust setup, chin, and a grille. so in 2-3 weeks i'll have my personalized stang
