Default How Do I...

remove the liner from the hood? Yes I did a search but in all the post there was nothing saying how to remove it. Any help would be great. I'm going to paint the 2 running horses and I want to take it off, Plus I need to figure out how to keep the middle part up so it stops rubbing my Plenum cover.

thanks for any help

This is easy as pie.

Look closely at the hood liner. In various places there will be a small black plastic "rivet". These are called push fasteners. They are simply pushed into holes in the hood and hold the liner in place. To remove the liner you just need to go around and pull out all of the push fasteners.

An old fork works really well for pulling them out. Just stick the tines behind the head of the fastener and carefully pull it out. Save them for re-use when you put it back on.

sweet, thanks crazyAl... Any suggestions for keeping the middle part up. I though about buying some velcro that is sticky on both sides but I'm not sure if it would stay or not.ie...temp.

Please let me know if you come up with a way to keep the middle part up. I have the same problem with it rubbing the plenum cover. Thanks!

sweet ride and I like those rims.... just like mine! I put my factory ones back on for the winter, ie; the ones in my sig. I will keep you posted for sure. Not sure what to use b/c of the temp. I'm wondering if a piece of velcro would work or not.

I copied this from a previous post of mine & it is still working great. Did it arround first week Oct 06. I tried the 3M tape but the hood blanket was to pourous to let it to stick.

Easy way to hold up hood pad. Remove retaing buttons frome one side of cover under hood (wiggle out with needle nose pliers). You can now get between hood & pad. Pick up a can of 3M super 77 spray adhesive from home depot. Spray underside of hood & top hood cover let dry for 10 or so mins, press retaining buttons back into place to align cover then press cover tight against hood. My cover hasn't moved. been up for a month. No damage to plenum cover. I read about the damage to cover on this post & glued it up when I installed the plenum cover. I you don't do this do something or it will be ruined because it will rub. Good luck
