Shaker speaker replacements ...
Hi everyone,
I have 2 pairs of Infinity 6812cf 2-way speakers, and I was wondering if there were any step-by-step instructions on how to install them into my '07 w/a Shaker 500 system? I didn't find any basic info in search, and I don't know the first thing about audio systems, so here are also a few questions:
1. What tools do I need to install them?
2. Do I need any other equipment?? (Such as wire splicers?), and what exact equipment and how many do I need? Links would be helpful ...
TIA!!!!

You need a small socket set and a torx bit to remove the door panel, there are links around to the steps needed to remove them. Another torx bit or phillips screwdriver(I can't remember which one) to remove the speaker. To make things easier on you, get the wire connector adapters for the Mustang at Circuit City or another place like that so there won't be any cutting and splicing. It should take you about 20 minutes per speaker if you have never done it before and you take your time.
Heres a link for removal of various panels and the speakers. http://www.2005stang.com/viewtopic.php?t=1087
Thanks drbobvs - that was very helpful!!
A few questions (sorry!):
1. Which 4 speakers do I replace with the Infinity 6812cf's? I'm thinking it's the 2 "parcel speakers" and the 2 "door speakers" (not the subwoofers or quarter panel speakers, right)?
[blockquote]"To make things easier on you, get the wire connector adapters for the Mustang at Circuit City or another place like that so there won't be any cutting and splicing."
[/blockquote]2. I went to Circuit City's website and searched for speaker harnesses; is that what I need to get?
3. When searching for speaker harnesses for an '07 Ford Mustang Coupe, Circuit City's website came up with 15 matches! Which ones do I get? Four of them are listed as being for Fords ... 72-5600, 72-5512, DW-7800SH, and 72-5510. Which one is the right one? I assume I need one harness for each speaker?
4. What exactly do I need to splice and connect?
Sorry for the (dumb?) questions, but again, I'm clueless! TIA!!!

Yes the harnesses come in pairs, just ask the salespeople at Circuit City for the right one, they have the correct listing in their computer, that's how they looked up the right ones for me.
Correct when you say you do not replace the subwoofer, just the 4 6x8's.
Just make sure you like treble, 'cause those Infinity's have alot of top end and are very "bright", I have the same ones in my car.
