Default Axleback alignment help!

i was just wondering whats the best way to adjust an axleback thats hanging a little too low. i know i probably have to mess with the hangers to move it, but do i need to just whack the hanger with a hammer to move it? or do i need to heat the hanger up and bend it? any ideas would be appreciated. i just didnt want to take it off and try anything until i know i can do something that works.

No need to bend the hanger. Loosen the bolts on the h-pipe clamp in the middle of the car and adjust as needed. It doesn't seem like it will work on the face of it, but it does work.

Don't break out the hammer!

Well. I used the old school method on mine. Take a large box wrench and hold it in a verticle position and slide the box end over the rear most hanger rod of the muffler. Make sure the top of the box wrench offset angles toward the back of the vehicle. Pull the bottom of the wrench toward the front of the vehicle, this will bend the rear of the hanger rod of the muffler down, thus lifting the muffler up.

I have the Bassani axle back exhaust-when I installed it I had to grind the alignment tabs off the stock pipes because the Bassani mufflers did not have cutouts for the alignment tabs. If this is your problem it will not let the mufflers slip on to the pipe far enough and it won't hang properly.

I would try loosening it back up have someone hold it higher then you want it while you tighten it. When you let loose it should be good. that is how I adjusted mine. Hope it helps

Get some ramps for $40 or so at the auto parts store and back up on to them. Should give you clearance to work in the middle. Trust me, the "H-pipe clamp trick" will work.
