Hood Help
I am currently shopping for an aftermarket hood. I am looking for a hood that is functional, i.e. ram air, increased air flow to intake, heat extractor, etc. (It doesn't have to have all those things, they were just examples). The problem is I live in Oregon where it rains a LOT and I am worried about getting water and other crap in the engine compartment, intake, etc. Are there any aftemarket hoods you'd recommend?

RE: Hood Help
IMO djmac95, I would go with a Cowl hood. My stang is a DD with no garageso havingsnow & rainwater getting into the engine bay is also an issue for me as well. Thats whyI got the Cervinis 4"Cowl. The stang is still in the shop and the hood isbeing painted and put on, hoping to post Pics as soon as I get the car back hopfully sometime this week. Steeda offers 2" Cowl, Harwood offers a 3" Cowl, and Cervinis offers a 4" Cowl,IMO these are the best companies to go with as far as quality hoods and Customer support.

RE: Hood Help
Thanks everyone for the help. It looks like we are putting together a pretty good list of hood resources that I hope helps everybody.
I do like the Fang hoods, as they look like they have "plumbing" underneath to keep the water out which, like I said, is a big deal if you live in Oregon.
I don't understand though, how the RK Sport hood would keep out the water? It and all the other California Dream style hoods I've seen looks like it just has two direct openings to the engine bay.

RE: Hood Help
First, the hood and the vents are angled forward - then they both take a hard approx 90 degree turn to head to the filter and then the channel comes FORWARD before it opens up. The water would have to do a T-1000 and flow around corners to seriously wet down the engine.
Again - I drove my car for a year with that hood and never had any problems.
