Default Simple tune 15 plus horsepower?

The local Mustang shop said they could get me an additional 15 horsepower on my '07 GT with a quick computer tune, which also frees up the throttle lag. Has anyone had this done and did you notice any difference in power or throttle?

I think that can be done with a dyno tune. But if you are spending that much you might as well get a CAI while you are at it!

i'd do exhaust and a cai before you do the tune, possibly headers too

if you are planning on doing a cai or axleback in the future, i would do those first then get the tune. otherwise, the tune will be set up for a stock mustang if you do it first. it will probably squeeze a few more hp out of it if you do the cai and axlebacks before the tune

Axleback is not going to matter. Only the CAI.

There are claims that they increase HP but I do not think that many deliver with any real gains. Maybe a few. Nothing like the 8-11% that is stated.

You will not gain any HP with axle backs some can account for 1-2hp but I think Ford did a good job on the stock exhaust. Buy exhaust for the sound you are looking for not HP.
for 15hp K&N Aircharger or Air Raid will give you around 12-15hp without a tune also the GMS has a MAF sensor replacment in theirs, and italso does not require a tune. some weight reduction wouldhelp in the RWHP,like Drive Shaft.most of these would keep your Dealer at bay when service is performed.

Edit..
I just found a link that C&L makes a "NO TUNE" Insert for the intake. This might be a way to go so when you are ready for a tune you just remove the insert -- COOL--

or lose the rear seats, and get one of those covers i saw on a site. and it gives you an excuse to not give people rides in the back seat

Reducing throttle lag won't give you extra HP, either!
I don't know if just a basic tune would give you 15HP... maybe the 93 Octane tune?
If you get the full CAI + a tune you should get more than 15
