Default Radar/Laser detector install ??

I am going to install this unit in my 07 GT/CS when it arrives. Does anyone have this or any knowledge of it. I like it because I can mount it flush in the dash and I wont have any junky wires and cords dangling around. Comments ? suggestions? Opinions?

Passport X50 or V1, there are some other more expensive ones but anything cheaper than either of those isn't worth it.

Good reviews and articles here:

I went with the Passport Escort 8500 because it rated about the same as the Bell, plus I might want to add the integrated laser jammer someday. Had it hardwired by Car Toys to avoid using the dash outlet.

My opinion, don't buy the whistler. I've owned both the Escort 8500, and the 8500 X50, and the Valentine 1. The Valentine 1 is by far the best unit. Yes it's a little bigger but the arrows are amazing.

I would still have my X50 but I had so many problems with it. Last summer it needed to be serviced again($80 for them to look at it), only 6 months after the last service. However my warrenty was now up and they told me to shove it. Sodue to their lack of customer service I'm now the proud owner of a V1.

Wish I bought it years ago over the Escort.

The only thing a detector is good for is to tell you that you've been zapped!
