Default Are your flowmasters rusting??

I was looking at ebay and saw a pair of used ones and
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2005-...QQcmdZViewItem

dont they seem rusty...they are aluminized and have 1 year warranty as oppose to the 10 year that their stainless get....is aluminzed that much worse...I love the sound of these but I dont want them to rust...please help. I would love if someone could tell me if theirs are rusting. Keep in mind I only travel a few miles at a time and rarely long trips so this will leave condensation in the mufflers without evaporation...I think..

These look pretty rough. Perhaps road salt? Don't know. I do know that mine have been on for about a year or so, and do not resemble those one bit....I only drive about 5 miles each way to work......13K in two years....

So I crawled under a minute ago on the way back from getting the paper....Don't look anything like that.....

I happened to see this in the for sale section. May want to check it, don't know for sure....

Of coarse they're rusting. They are not stainless steel. You will be money ahead if you buy a stainless steel system. My Borla system is T-304 stainless that will never wear out.

If you drive in rain or snow of course their going to start showing signs of rust. Mine are in good shape because the car is only driven in good weather. I've had many different sets of Flowmasters on cars both driven and not drivenin the elementsand never had any total rust through.
