Premium Red Leather
Car is leaning toward the two year old mark. I have the premium red interior. Has anyone with the same experienced a very noticeable difference in wear and fading. I keep this car spotless and treat the leather every three months with a cleaner and conditioner. And is any part of the back seat really leather? The sides and back of the front seats and the entire back seat do not absorb the leather conditioner even closely to the front sitting area. I am pretty pissed with the quality of these seats in every aspect. Has anyone claimed poor leather quality as a warranty issue.I will be hitting the golden 30,000 mile mark in 2800 more miles and am considering claiming these on warranty.
My drivers seat is the only one that anyone ever sits in anyway, but yea, it hasn't worn very well. I actually noticed it over a year ago and considered having it warrantied. When I said something to my service writer he suggested that I wait until close to the end of the warranty period because Ford will only replace it once.
Another thing is I have had the front part of both seats fixed twice now where the seat cover goes under the frame. It is loose again.

My seats seem to be fine. There is a bit more wear noticible on the drivers side, but other than that everything is A-OK. I use a conditioner on it every other week to keep it nice. It has worked for me so far.
On the warranty side, I don't know if they'd warranty wear & tear items. But, I am sure if you make enough of a stink, they will do anything.
Let us know if ou take it in, and what they say to you.

I just read up on this topic in the Warranty Manual and normal wear and deterioration is not covered. These are just a few highlights from the manual. I also went and checked my seats as they are red leather and they fall under all the not covered catagories.

I too was badly disappointed to find that such a small percentage of the seats are actually leather. For the extra money on a premium GT, Ford should have provided far better leather seats instead of 30% cheap leather and 70% vinyl. If I could do it over again, I'd just get a GT with cloth seats.
